With the holidays right around the corner, everyone is wondering what gifts to get for their loved ones. Whether it be your family, a significant other, or a friend, there is a perfect gift out there for everyone, and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune either.

If you know the person you are buying for well, a handmade gift may be the way to go. These gifts can be more meaningful than some store-bought gifts, as the person receiving them knows how much time and effort was put in. These gifts can also utilize the skill set of the gift giver. Some common handmade gifts are portraits of some type, pottery, or baked goods. Of course, it is difficult to give exact examples as it is entirely based on the person you are giving the gift to. At the end of the day, if you know the person you are giving a gift to well, a handmade gift could be the best way to go.

Although handmade gifts are excellent, they are not the only way to show a loved one you care about them. The reality is, not everyone has the time to make a gift from scratch, and store-bought gifts can be just as meaningful. For example, sites such as Redbubble and TeePublic can give you a variety of products based on a niche interest your loved one may have. Even gift cards can be personalized in this way, by getting your loved one a gift card for a store or restaurant they rave about. You can also combine generic store-bought gifts, such as by putting your loved one’s favorite candy in a funny or meaningful mug. At the end of the day, there should not be so much of a stigma attached to buying gifts, as they can be just as thoughtful as handmade gifts but take less time.

While it can sometimes be simple finding a gift for someone you know well, how about the obligatory gift you have to give to an acquaintance or coworker you barely know? It is still possible to give great gifts to these people in your life that you don’t know as well! Baked goods still work well for this category of people assuming you know of any dietary restrictions they may have. However, there are less risky gifts you can give to these people as well. Generic gift cards to places like Starbucks or Amazon are always a safe choice, as they can be used for a variety of products. Subscription boxes to something like monthly flowers or socks are also great gifts depending on the person, as they generally contain generic enough items for anyone to enjoy. Candles, jewelry, board games, and any other items you have made use of in life are also great choices for the same reason: anyone can use them!

Therefore, no matter how close you feel to someone you are buying a gift for, it is possible to find the perfect present for them!
