Dior’s Addict Lip Glow Oil: A Steal or Not a Steal?

Dior is always on top of their game with their lavish makeup and packaging. Their makeup is a preferred one by many, but is their latest makeup product, Addict Lip Glow Oil, worth the hype?

Dior’s Addict Lip Glow Oil has quickly become one of their bestsellers since it was first released on November 22, 2021. It is a nourishing lip oil with an intense, color-awakening gloss that retails for $35. It is featured in 7 different shades: Mahogany, 015 Cherry, 012 Rosewood, 007 Raspberry, 006 Berry, 004 Coral, and 001 Pink. Each shade, according to Sheila Mamona, a writer for Glamour, “reacts directly with the lips’ moisture levels to reveal a custom color making the product suitable for a wide range of complexions and skin tones.” There is no doubt as to why it’s blown up all over the world and internet, as it gives a subtle but glossy look with a nice formulated application. Mamona informs, “[Its] formula is infused with cherry oil that instantly nourishes, protects, softens, and revitalizes the lips, providing ultimate lip care and lip glow hybrid as well as a maximum plumping effect.” Dior’s Addict Lip Glow Oil isn’t just a makeup favorite but also a skincare must, specifically for those with intensely dry lips.

Despite it being a fan favorite, Dior’s Addict Lip Glow Oil is a rob. It is overhyped for its price. There are plenty of other lip oils or lip products that are just as good, if not better, out there sold at much more affordable prices. Ellen Wu, a 15 year old resident of Massachusetts and beauty influencer, states, “Comparable ones would be Fenty’s. Milani’s are also nice, different but nice. Dior’s packaging is no doubt the prettiest, but does it justify the product?”

All in all, Dior’s Addict Lip Glow Oil may be one of Dior’s bestsellers, but when it comes to lip oils, it is not the best. Its quality may be good, but $35 for a standard sized lip glossed oli is not when there are some different branded ones being sold from $10 to $25, maximum.
