With vivid color and enchantingly catchy songs, Encanto is an unforgettable new Disney film.

The newest animated movie from Disney, takes place in Colombia and follows the Madrigal family who have all been blessed with a magical gift except for Mirabel. The cast of the film consisted of big names like Diane Guerrero, John Leguizamo, and Wilmer Valderama.

The film, released in November 2021 and later to Disney+, was a chance for the producers to highlight the rich culture of Colombia and give Colombians a chance to see their culture on the big screen. For example, one little boy found he looked very similar to one of the characters from the movie and his mother had this to say about it, “…it was the perfect example of the joy a child experiences when being able to see themselves as part of the story…,” upworthy.com.

An important observation to note is the power and the significance of the Encanto soundtrack. “The songs are very catchy and heartwarming. I really feel like I can connect to the characters and their feelings,” said an anonymous student. The soundtrack, consisting of songwriters like Lin-Manuel Miranda, has been topping the charts since its release. As, “Encanto ” is the first soundtrack to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s chart since “Frozen 2” in late 2019,” as well as exceeding the likes of Adele’s “30” album, nytimes.com.

Disney film, Encanto, is a riveting tale that explores the power of family and self discovery and shows us that we are all special in our own way.
