Wrestling Finishes Strong

Wrestling finished their season strong at Thunderbird. After going undefeated in their dual competitions (at Liberty, Peoria, Husky Invitational, Ironwood, and Eagle Challenge) with their largest team in a year, the team was met with their state.

The team was lucky enough to have 10 wrestlers compete at state. Vonn Fenn, who was undefeated up until this point, sadly broke his streak, but he still got second place at state and finished the season with a record of 43-1. Serge Fenn joined his brother in placing, getting third place. Phillip Livingstone fought hard as well, earning fourth place. The team as a whole placed tenth at state. Coach Chandler, the wrestling coach added on, saying, “Three girls finished the season for the first time ever at Thunderbird and 2 of them competed in the all girls sectional tournament.” Great job, team!

Clearly, the wrestling team fought hard to finish off their season. It was a success as we had several wrestlers place at state, and of course the team did great in their normal competitions. Way to go, Titans!
