This year’s volleyball team is younger, with only three seniors. Head Coach Price has been looking to grow the program and successfully did so this year, with the JV and 9/10 teams looking strong in the first few days of practice. Head Coach Price regarding the Varsity team: “We coaches are really excited to see what the girls can do this season! They’re training hard in the weight room and in the gym during practice.” After diving straight into practices after tryouts, the girls are already clicking with one another, and the overall team chemistry is outstanding.

Last season was a successful one for Titan volleyball, making it to the second round of the playoffs, eventually losing to the 4A State Champions. Varsity lost a few strong and reliable players, but that won’t stop them from their eventual goal of making the playoffs for the second year in a row. When asked about playoffs, Coach Price responded, “last year was the first time in five years that Varsity made the playoffs. We have no doubts that the girls can do it again.”

JV and the 9/10 teams are getting good practice time every day, constantly building skill and learning new techniques with each hour in the gym. All 36 girls in the program have displayed their dedication to the sport and its time demanding schedule. Spectators can’t wait to see what the teams will accomplish this season. “The program has grown a lot in the past two years and we have welcomed new talent to all three teams this season. We can’t wait to see what the program as a whole accomplishes,” Coach Price remarks. The first two games are at home against Coconino on August 31st, and Apollo on September 2nd.
