Swim and Dive

The Titans are back in the water and ready for a fantastic year! After a limited season due to COVID last year, the swimmers and divers are excited for their full meet schedule in the near future.

This year, the team is practicing at Cortez Park. Although they have to share the pool with a few other teams, they are working hard to perform well this season. One swimmer, a junior named Jaya Johnson exclaims, “We’ve been swimming really well! People should come to our swim meets more!”

With a large senior class of swimmers graduating this May, the team is lucky to have a group of strong underclassmen to take up the torch once they leave. Mr. Pederson, one of the coaches for the team, states, “We have a strong group of returning swimmers, especially seniors, and we’re adding a strong group of newcomers. It should be a successful season.”

The team’s first meet was against Prescott High School, and the team won with a score of 95:75 for the girls and 85:79 for the boys. They are excited for the possibility of winning more later on in the season.

Great job Titans! We look forward to seeing what the team can do the rest of the season.
