How to Stay Safe on Halloween

Halloween is a great time to get outside and trick or treat. Halloween is all about dressing up in wacky costumes and keeping people speculating who you are. This allows individuals to have more fun, but you must be cautious of who is around you while trick-or-treating and ensure that you’re always in a group.

Some features of this holiday include being excited to trick or treat or visiting haunted houses, but it’s important to also be mindful of who is around you and who may appear suspicious. An online website, called Bridgeport stated, “Halloween should be fun and scary, not dangerous and scary.” This is significant since Halloween is supposed to be a joyous and exciting night filled with sweets. Instead, people are terrified of being hit by someone purposely or a stranger who wants to kidnap little children and use the holiday as a cover.

Some Halloween advice is to constantly be aware of your surroundings, no matter where you go. Always plan your night ahead of time before going trick-or-treating with kids, and if you’re wearing a costume, wear bright colors and reflective tape so that people notice you’re there. In addition, always check candy before taking it because someone might have tampered with it before giving it to you. Also try staying in groups of 4-5 people to ensure you’re safe and comfortable

According to Safekids, “Join kids under age 12 for trick-or-treating. If kids are mature enough to be out without supervision, tell them to stick to familiar areas that are well lit and trick-or-treat in groups.” This is an important remark because it demonstrates how individuals all throughout the world, regardless of whether they have a child or not, want to assist other children stay safe and avoid going missing. “However, dressing appropriately for trick-or-treating and carefully planning your evening can increase the likelihood of a fun, frightful and injury-free Halloween,¨ said by Bill Schietinger.

Overall, being safe on Halloween night is crucial because you never know who you’ll encounter. Have fun, but be aware of your surroundings.
