The Last Of Us Part 1: Remake Review
October 25, 2022
The Last of Us Part 1 has recently been remade for the PS5; however, the release has sparked questions on why the 2013 game is priced as if it is brand new.
The remake of “The Last of Us Part 1” includes minor, noticeable differences in the graphics and scenery. The first version of the game was released in 2013 for the PS3, and the remaster of the game was released in 2014.
The unique action-adventure game follows the story line of Ellie Williams, a 14-year-old girl, and Joel Miller, a 52-year-old, desensitized man. Born into a post-apocalyptic world, Ellie Williams has never known life preceding the pandemic that extinguished the world’s population 20 years before the main story line. After being bit by an infected person, Ellie realizes she is immune.
Mr. Rivera, an English teacher at Thunderbird High School said, “when I first played the original Last of us I fell in love with it immediately” This masterpiece of a video game is intertwined with darkness and calamity. Mr. Rivera even describes the game as, “A wholesome family road trip that is littered with gruesome and tragic events.” The game has next-level realism and incredibly well-written characters.
The newest version enhances the detail and emotion of the game. However, the release of another version of the game has caused controversy among fans because it is priced at $70. Presley Neuwerth, Thunderbird High School senior, said “For an older game with some updates, the price is too high.” The game is almost the same game that came out 9 years ago. The remake consists of advancement in the visuals. The visuals of the game are genuinely incredible. The game feels so real, the violence and fear leaves you on the edge of your seat. The lush environment makes the game remarkably beautiful. The remake is expensive, but whether it is worth the price is up to the customer.
In conclusion, The Last of Us is an incredible game worth playing, if you have the money and a PS5, give the remake a chance
