The Phoenix Suns faced the San Antonio Spurs two times early this season, with San Antonio winning both. Each game was a treat, the second seeing the return of Devin Booker, one of the Sun’s big three. Victor Wembanyama jumped into the fray for the Spurs. Victor Wembanyama would make a huge impact on this second game, as he would score a total of 38 points for his team with Devin Booker scoring only 31 points this game. The real question for this game is can Kevin Durant still carry a team by himself? We believe the answer is yes because as of writing this Kevin Durant recently dropped 41 points on the Detroit Pistons. This would shut down the criticism of whether Durant can still carry a team. This is only one game though, so we shall continue to watch Durant and see how he performs. For the San Antonio Spurs, Victor Wembamyama is currently changing the game for them. This was shown in the second game, as when he was on the court the San Antonio Spurs were on top.
We would speculate before the most recent game against the San Antonio Spurs with Thunderbird High School language and literature teacher Mr. Bird. When asked why that night’s game was intriguing Mr. Bird stated “Tonight’s matchup is specifically intriguing because the Phoenix Suns are missing a player. I believe Victor Wembenyama will change the game as he was the first in the draft this year.”
We would later see this come to fruition when we saw Victor Wembanyama on the court. He has been called an alien by players such as Lebron James because of his height and skill. This would ring true in this game as Victor Wembanyama showed us what the San Antonio Spurs are made of.
In the end the Phoenix Suns would end losing to the San Antonio Spurs as fans of the Phoenix Suns it was hard to watch at some points. Game-wise, it was very exciting; this game had points where we were on the edge of our seats rooting for the Phoenix Suns. This game leaves us excited to see the next showdown against the San Antonio Spurs.
