With the boys’ basketball season halfway through, Thunderbird has already made a killer lead. Boys basketball is made up of three groups, freshman, JV, and Varsity. Each group has a total win-to-loss ratio of 12 wins – 6 losses. So far, Varsity is undefeated and the team is making the best improvements that are possible, to go all the way to the playoffs.
To start, the freshmen have had a rough opener. They lost their first game, won their second, and have since lost back-to-back. It seemed like there was no hope for them this season. However, after a little practice, they are starting to make a small comeback. When asked about the freshmen’s performance, Milo Bliznick said, “One thing I think we could have done better was have safer passes, so we could avoid more turnovers.” On the other hand, JV and Varsity are making great leads. JV has won 5 out of the 6 total games that they have played. Even though they can’t go into any playoff games, they are planning on doing their best to finish their season with a victory.
On top of that, this boy’s basketball season has been a great improvement. Last season, Varsity had a win rate of 67% and JV had a win rate of 59%. But this season, Varsity so far has a win rate of 80% and JV has a win rate of 83%.
Even though this season still has a long way to go, this is a clear indication of one thing. These two teams are going to go very far, and Thunderbird’s boy’s basketball team will come out on top.
