Goodyear police department received a disturbing call from worried Goodwill employees reporting that a skull had been found in one of the donation bins. An immediate police investigation began. Police sent the skull over to the Maricopa County examiner’s office. “It is a human skull,” the medical examiner confirmed.
What crime was committed that led to this skull being found? The answer is somewhat shocking but there was no crime linked to this skull. Lisa Berry, police spokesperson, said, “But at this point, and this preliminary, it appears to be historic, ancient and it does not appear to have any forensic value at all…no crime is attached to this skull.” This is nothing short of surprising given the skull’s eerie and sinister look.
The bizarre discovery of this skull received a plethora of reactions both online and in the Arizona community. Sydney Steele, a regular at Goodyear Goodwill, says, “I come to this goodwill all the time and I’ve never heard of anything that crazy being donated.” Others online find the situation more entertaining than mysterious. “Looks like someone brought something back from the pirate ride at Disneyland,” someone joked. Though it was a frightening find, it was handled nicely by both Goodwill employees and the Goodyear police department.
