Now that rehearsals are in full swing, Bikini Bottom is approaching Thunderbird fast. The theater production of Spongebob the Musical is in full swing, and the cast and crew are prepared to make this show the best that it can be. As you read this, lines are being learned, movements are being marked, and everyone couldn’t be more excited to put this show up on stage.
This performance of Spongebob the Musical will star Alma Jacobson as Spongebob, Andrew Stark as Squidward, Dwight Grape as Patrick, Sienna Meyer as Sandy, and many, many more talented actors. The show takes place in the town of Bikini Bottom on an ordinary day. And like any ordinary day, problems arise, friends are betrayed, and money needs to be made.
When asked about how she will draw more people into seeing the show, Dorry Bailes, the stage/social media manager, stated, “I will make posts about the musical to social media sites, which will hopefully spread the word to anyone interested in coming.” On the other hand, the behind-the-scenes production is taking on a different challenge. According to Brandon Elzholz, a set design member, “The set design team is going to try to make the set and the props look more like the world of Spongebob.” He also revealed, “We’ll do this by making it more cartoonish, and it’ll feel like you’re actually there.”
The show dates for the musical are February 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. Tickets are also on sale, and they can be found on Gofan.com. Make sure to come check out Spongebob the Musical, and support everyone involved in it.
