Neve Campbell returns to play Sydney Prescott in Scream 7 with a new director, Kevin Williamson. 

After leaving Scream 6 due to salary disputes, actress Neve Campbell is returning to Scream 7. An Instagram post made by Campbell says “ I’m so excited to announce this news!!! Sidney Prescott is coming back!!!” 

The “new final girls” Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega will not be returning to Scream 7. Barrera, who plays Samantha, will not be acting in Scream 7, for comments shared on social media about the Gaza war. Ortega, who plays Tara, will not be in the film either for reasons such as a scheduling conflict. Courtney Cox, who plays Gale Weathers, is deciding whether or not to return to the Scream franchise.
