Thunderbird Track & Field Best Moments

After a long season, it’s important to recognize and highlight the best times, jumps, and throws of the THS 2024 Track & Field Season. Runners, throwers, and jumpers from Thunderbird High School are ending their season soon.

Most recently, they attended the D3 West Regional Championships where the boys took 2nd place overall and girls took 3rd. They not only took trophies for both sides but also compiled 240.5 points. In the boy’s 100-meter dash, Elijah Little came in 4th place, running a 11.27 with -1.1 m/s. In the girls final race Emma-Lee Burke took 5th place running a 13.18 with -1.7 m/s.

The team did exceptionally well in long jump, with Devin Yates representing the boys. He managed to take second place at 20-01.25 with 1.7 m/s and then for the girl’s Emma-Lee Burke placed third, jumping 15-04.50 with 1.2 m/s.

Next, it’s always important to cover the relays in the boy’s 4×400 category, Bradley Holland,  Malikai Norfor, Logan Camps, and Julien Archuleta placed 3rd with a recorded time of 3:31.98 also setting a new team record. The girls were also able to take 3rd in the 4×400 relay with Lanaya Robinson, Hayden Francis, Alissa Cowel, and Lucia Henson ran a 4:36.22 which was also a new team record.

Continuing with the jumping events, Joel FungAFatt led the team taking 5th place with a successful jump over 5-08.00 as a freshman. Lanaya Robinson took 2nd place jumping 4-10.00 setting a personal record and again doing it as a freshman. Overall, Thunderbird’s Track & Field team has been very successful in the majority of events, giving them a good chance at the next meet which will be May 3rd-4th the end of season, AIA Division III Championship.
