It’s that time of year again! Artists all over the country are submitting their work for a chance at a nomination at the 2025 Grammys.
This year is expected to be a hassle as many fan-loved artists released albums this year. Artists who may get nominated include Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, and many more. The most prestigious award is Album of the Year.
This year, Taylor Swift broke records with her album The Tortured Poets Department. The record had 14 of its tracks take up the top spots on Billboard’s Top 10 Charts. It held the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 200 for 14 consecutive weeks.
Also, Sabrina Carpenter released her album Short n’ Sweet, and fans loved it. With three of its tracks ruling the Hot 100 on Billboard’s Chart, the album was number one for a few weeks. It’s safe to say this album is loved by many. Amelia Pine, Sophomore, had a lot to say on how this album is personally one of Sabrina’s best. When asked how she felt about this album, she said, “I think it’s pretty good; a lot of people found it good.” Pine says she listened to the album in her room with her cats.
Additionally, Charli XCX released her album Brat, loved by many, specifically the Gen-Z audience. It had so much popularity over the summer that fans named this summer, “Brat Summer”, with it being about this album.
Furthermore, Chappell Roan released her album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess in late 2023. While Chappell didn’t have much success with her album’s initial release, this all changed when she opened for Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS world tour. She had a massive blow-up, with people all over the world discovering her and loving her music.
In conclusion, all these major artists put out records this year, and by popular opinion, they will essentially be nominated for categories in this year’s GRAMMY awards ceremony. Nominations come out on November 8th, 2024. It’s sure to be super hectic.
