The Arizona State Fair is usually the most exciting time for Arizona in the fall. Rides, food, and more. Although this year people are not as excited about the prices.
“Arizonans are feeling the cost of inflation.” stated Gabriella Bachara from Trivago. The vendors and rides are at a high price, making a trip very expensive even for one person.
“But at this point you’re better off just going to an amusement park for these prices! Az state fair thinks they’re Disneyland now or something,” said Alyssa B from Trivago reviews. People have compared the state fair to big time theme parks with very expensive items and tickets saying you are better off going there. This comparison shows how truly expensive the state fair has grown over the years.
The state fair is definitely a fun place. “The arts and crafts were beautifully curated, but surprisingly small for a region so densely populated,” Wendy W from Trivago said. There are nice attractions but for the pricing more is expected from the fair.
Price expansion all around the state fair this year has caused people to come specifically when there are deals or other items are free. Many deals include unlimited wristbands on Thursdays, three dollar taste of fair, feel good fridays, and read and ride. This is a dramatic change since everything is so expensive and now most of the people can get in for free. People can also save up to 50 dollars on a Thursday or 15 dollars during admission plus about eight dollars per ride.
Noah Birkmann, freshman said “ It affected it a lot, it used to be cheaper,” to the question “How has inflation affected the state fair?” Students around the campus have noticed the effect of the pricing on their fun this year.
The overall prices have left people in shock. As well as, making them not want to attend this big event as much during October and September.
