You may have noticed that the soda machines are down right now. How does this happen? What can we do to help?
The soda machines outside the cafeteria have not been working for a while now. Many students question if the machines are broken or if the school just is not stocking on soda.
A Capital University Newspaper website by the name The Chimes says that “there are plenty of potential causes of a broken machine. A machine could be broken because of abuse from customers, ambient operating conditions such as too much sunlight or dust, lack of preventive maintenance, or even just equipment wearing down overtime.” This could be the reason why our soda machines are not working.
What can we do to make the machine work again? Sasha Miller, freshman, said, “We can do extra activities like fundraisers to fix it.” Evelin Hernandez, freshman, said “that the school makes a lot of money from the Thundershack and fundraisers. I think we are able to get enough money from fundraisers to fix the soda machine.”
We can also fix this problem by doing maintenance checks at least once a month. Let’s stop abusing the machines such as hitting or pushing the machines too hard so the soda can dispense. If we can avoid this, then we can have perfectly good soda machines!
