Over 170 million people in the United States use TikTok, but on Jan. 19, the app was no longer accessible for 12 hours before being re-established.
Many people around the world deleted the app before President Donald Trump pushed the ban back into early April. Unfortunately, TikTok has been taken out of the app store. People who rashly deleted the app can no longer reinstall it, being unable to enjoy it during the pause of the ban. Citizens all over America have been disgruntled with the situation.
Selling phones with TikTok already installed has gone too far. People have sold these phones for substantial amounts, leaving others gobstopped at the prices. When a search for “TikTok phone” is put into eBay, over 9 thousand listings appear, and many people are buying them. Previous bids on the phones are seen to be over 4 thousand dollars.
There is even an iPhone 16 Pro Max with TikTok installed listed for $50,000 as a “buy now” price. Even though no one has purchased this phone yet, at the time of writing, over 81 people had viewed the product. This postponed ban has brought quite the impact into America.
