Since President Donald Trump took office on Jan. 20, several anti-immigration protests have erupted across the United States.
These protests oppose his immigration policies, which include mass deportations and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. The people attending these gatherings have the right to protest. Many creators from social media organized these protests for the people to fight for their rights.
Before Trump took office, reports indicated that ICE vehicles had already been spotted in Bakersfield, Calif. Many people did not expect that Trump would do anything like that. On Feb. 3, parents and children skipped school and work to highlight the need for immigrants in the United States according to the Los Angeles Times. Recently, a protest took place in Glendale, Ariz., where a citizen stole a police car. Unfortunately, the police have not been able to identify the person who took the vehicle and no arrests were made. The police car was recovered shortly after the incident. According to a Glendale police officer, people have the right to do a peaceful protest. The police suggest that people attending protests be sure to be safe and not to do anything violent.
