This year’s soccer Senior Night was very lucky to get help from Vocal Ensemble, Varsity Cheer, and NJROTC to support the soccer program.
In the beginning, VE were singing the national anthem while NJROTC presented the colors. Then, the cheerleaders were cheering. Coach Mearig started by going in order of reading the seniors jersey number, their name, and then he would read their response to two questions: “What was your favorite memory during your soccer season?” and “What are you planning to do after high school?” According to Matthew Hernandez, senior, his favorite memories in the soccer program were “winning region my junior year, being named captain, and being selected to a second team in regions.”
Varsity boys soccer Senior Night was presented on Feb. 3. Ten seniors were presented that night including Jaxson Jenna, Ethan Schlesinger, Kevin Antonio Reyes, Elias Ramirez, Miguez Fierro, Sergio Junior, Matthew Hornburg, Joaquin Almedia, Matthew Hernandez, and Michael Velarde.
“The best part of presenting each player is seeing them with their families and being proud of what they have accomplished and who they have become,” said Head Coach Kirk Mearig.
