It is that time of the year again when cheer season is right around the corner! Spiritline is awaiting its new season!
Varsity and JV coaches will hold open practice every Wednesday in April after school from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the dance room (G102). Students are required to bring an out-of-season waiver, which can be obtained from Mrs. Shannon, Miller’s classroom (F201), or the front office. To participate, the waiver must be filled out and signed by a guardian.
In these practices, candidates will be taught the basics of cheer and how to stunt, jump, tumble, and have more movement. To participate in these practices, students must be wearing athletic clothes as well as tennis or cheer shoes, and their hair must be pulled back out of their face.
Tryout clinics will be held May 7-8 in the dance room after school, and tryouts will be on May 9. Students are required to be dressed in all black, with hair slicked back; jewelry and fake nails MUST be removed. Coaches will be handing out paperwork at the last open practice with details about the tryouts, and they will also provide information on the Thunderbird Cheer Instagram page.
