Thunderbird’s annual dance recital, Dance with Me, has concluded, leaving many in the audience stunned. It included all sorts of dances like jazz, contemporary slow songs, hip-hop with the upbeat songs, ETC, and which were beyond entertaining to watch.
Every recital date sold out, making it important to buy tickets earlier. The show consisted of two acts, with a 15-minute intermission in between them. Act one started strong with a performance by PERCO (Performance Company) group, with the song “Diva”.

The recital started around 7 p.m. and lasted until 9 p.m. The show itself was executed amazingly. The lights and effects shown on the stage were unreal to see in person.
A student survey was sent out to collect more feedback on the recital, and the dance number “Chicago” was a fan favorite! The “Chicago” number is a choreography with songs from the musical, Chicago.

The planning and choreography for the dance recital began with the school year. The recital was a student-run performance with every choreography by the students. When asked how it was being in the recital, Ariella Whiter, freshman, said, “It was fun but stressful, just like feeling like you’re not going to be ready in time, and the audience is humongous.”
Another dance that was widely acclaimed by the audience was a jazz choreography to the song “Sax.” It was beautifully danced by ADCO (Advanced Company) group. They danced in a gold and black bodysuit with a fur-like texture around the skirt. According to the survey that was sent out, “Sax” was the second most popular dance among them all.

This year, The Dance Company had more seniors than they had last year. On Saturday, the last night of the recital, senior night was held before the show began. It gave the seniors a chance to congratulate themselves for putting on the show and also say goodbye to their final year dancing for Thunderbird. They received rewards and recognition for their accomplishments during their time dancing for The Dance Company. It was a beautifully done final goodbye for all the seniors who danced their last show.
Overall, The Dance Company did a spectacular job putting on this year’s dance recital. Special thanks to senior Natalie Colwell and senior Ava Essler creating the dance numbers performed by sixth hour. The recital was an enchanting experience to watch from the audience and was emotional for parents and siblings watching their seniors perform one last time. That’s a wrap on this year’s recital, Dance with Me.
