Integrated Science students learned about renewable and nonrenewable energy sources, and with their knowledge built and tested electric vehicles. Renewable energy sources are natural, such as solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, and hydropower, according to un.org.
The resources were donated by Engineering for Tomorrow, which is a nonprofit organization that is focused on building the next generation of engineers and providing resources to schools like ours.
Abbey Burton, freshman, made her vehicle out of cardboard and popsicle sticks and powered it using a pulley system. She said, “I enjoyed the project and I would do it again next year.”
