Everybody knows Spider-Man, but Peter Parker is forgotten. The next movie in the Spider-Man franchise, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has been announced.
Toby Maguire was the first live-action Spider-Man, starring in Spider-Man 1, Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man 3. This trilogy accrued a total of nearly $2.47 billion worldwide, according to the Men’s Journal. After director Sam Raimi requested extra time for Spider-Man 4, it was decided that the Toby Maguire series would end.

Next to the screen was Andrew Garfield and his version of Parker for The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. This duo earned only about $1.47 billion, according to Men’s Journal, not nearly enough compared to the previous films. Due to the poor box office performance of the movies, this series was cut short.
Coming in with a new angle, Tom Holland was cast for the movies Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, which collected a total of $3.88 billion, according to Men’s Journal. This series has remained popular because of its focus on Parker being a kid, according to Time, while keeping its young-adult rating.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to release July 31, picks up years after No Way Home. Parker is out of high school with no one left to support him as he fights to protect his city. With the new movie, some people are curious whether Parker’s growth will affect how audiences respond to the story.
Many people at Thunderbird have said they are excited for the new movie. 46 percent of survey responders said they would like to see the movie follow the comic. Joel Richmond, grade, said he would like to see the movie follow the plotline of Hulk remembering Spider-Man.

Lincoln Davis, freshman, said that a “Man-Spider form of Spider-Man would be pretty cool to see.” This seems likely, based on the tailor’s clips of Spider-Man in non-manufactured webs and black eyes in another scene. However, producers have expressed concern about whether the image of “an 8-legged monster appearing in the movie” would work with younger audiences, according to Cinema Blend.
There have been many speculations on what audiences will see in the new movie. What we know is that after two decades of teenage Spider-Man, fans get to see a grown-up one.
