The Stranger Things series has captured the attention of many after premiering in 2016 on Netflix, with even more fans now as it reaches its fifth and final season.
The show is based around this world under our own, the upside down, that can only be entered through a gate, a tear in our world. When scientists open this gate, it causes a monster to escape and bring Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) into his world. Later, we meet Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), a small girl with psychokinetic and telepathic abilities who saves Will and closes the gate.
With each season, a new piece of Eleven’s past and the cause of the Upsidedown is revealed. As the show continues, it manages to capture more and more attention from fans. The series continues on for four seasons, adding a fifth on November 26, 2025.
However, only the first four episodes have been released (Volume 1), Netflix says they will release Volume 2 on December 25, 2025 and the finale on December 31. 2025. Giving fans plenty of time to wonder what will happen next.
Thunderbird Students are ecstatic about the ending, even though it’s the last season ever to be produced. When asked how she feels about the show, Adali Robles Santana, freshman, says, “I’m very scared and excited to see the end of the show. I’ve waited for years, and knowing it’s finally ending is a bittersweet feeling. I’m only scared to see what’s going to happen and who’s going to die.”
Even the actors who worked on the show are sad to see it end. “But to wrap it all up and the anticipation of working on something for so long – I mean it’s been one-third of my life, really. (..) Those people are family for life for me.” Said Joe Keery in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
It goes to show how powerful this show has been to its viewers since its’ release almost 10 years ago; and although it is ending fans will not forget this show for a very long time.
