There are millions of different places in the world to discover and meet new people. The world has many hidden treasures that not many know about. Here are some amazing places to experience during the summer of 2026.
Starting off 2,700 miles away is the Dominican Republic, a beloved place by many to travel.
The Dominican Republic is one of the most visited destinations during the summer being the second biggest Caribbean nation. It is also known for the stunning white sand beaches, food, and music. “I love the Dominican Republic for many reasons. The people are so nice and friendly and the beaches are beautiful,” says Kimberly Austin, Guidance Counselor.
Punta Cana is one of many areas that is recommended; there are 11 different beaches along the town’s coastline. There are activities like zip lining, surfing and much more to enjoy. Also give Santo Domingo a try, it’s a traditional-based restaurant in the Zonia Colonial.
Another beautiful place to visit is Panama, known for the Panama Canal which is a waterway that connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. “I would say the thing I loved the most about my time in Panama was transiting the Panama Canal. I was in the Navy; during this time we were restricted to the places we could go. However, my time in South America was overall awesome,” said Derek Gilbert, Navy Science Instructor.
Panama City’s architecture contains a cosmopolitan modern look with historic add-ins. Also it’s the only state that has tropical rainforest within its city limits being bio-diverse. Soberania National Park is one of the most well known rainforests for its jungle trails and thousands of bird species.
Wyoming is another adventurous place to visit, as there are many different places to hike and see the beautiful landscapes. The state is known for their national parks and monuments. Yellow Stone National Park is one of the most popular sites in Wyoming and the United States because of its volcanic plateau landscape and hydrothermal areas with rivers and forests.
“The landscapes and countryside are vastly different with very lush forests. My favorite place in Wyoming was the Grand Tetons National Park”, said Lucy Maurer, Culinary Arts Teacher. Overall Wyoming has breathtaking scenery and a diverse wild life you will wanna experience first hand.
The world offers so many places of wonders like these that have yet to be visited by you. Make summer of 2026 the year you make your travelling plans come true, making new memories with the ones you love.
